Youth protection at Bendixen-Braun – safety and responsibility in focus
At Bendixen-Braun, protecting minors is our top priority. We take our responsibility seriously and consistently implement all legal requirements to ensure that cigars and spirits are only sold and shipped to adult customers. On this page, we explain why we take certain steps, how the age verification process works and what you need to bear in mind when your order is delivered.
Why is age verification necessary?
The legal basis for our measures is the Youth Protection Act (JuSchG), in particular Section 10 Paragraph 3. This states:
"Tobacco products and other nicotine-containing products and their containers may not be offered to children and young people by mail order or sold to children and young people by mail order."
This regulation also applies to alcoholic beverages such as spirits. As a responsible company, we strictly implement these guidelines. This means that we have to verify your age before completing your first order. This is the only way we can ensure that our products are only sold to adults.
How does age verification work?
The age verification process at Bendixen-Braun is simple, secure and only needs to be completed once . It consists of three steps:
1. Create an account or log in
In order to order from us, you need a customer account. If you don't have one yet, you can register quickly and easily.
2. Verify age
In the next step, we will verify your age. For this we need:

A photo of your valid identification document (e.g. identity card, passport or driving license).

A selfie of you together with your identification document.
This data is used exclusively for age verification and is then securely deleted.
3. Place your order
As soon as your age has been successfully verified, you can order cigars and spirits as usual. The verification is a one-time process - you do not have to repeat it for every order.
What happens if the verification is not successful?
If the age verification is not successful, you will automatically be asked to repeat the process. Please make sure that the photos of your ID document and your selfie are clear and legible .
If the verification is not successful on the second attempt, we reserve the right to cancel all orders containing cigars or spirits. This is necessary in order to comply with legal requirements and to ensure the protection of minors.
Secure delivery with DHL Ident-Check
To ensure that your order only ends up in the hands of an adult, we send all packages containing tobacco products and spirits via DHL Ident-Check . You must be present in person at the time of delivery and present a valid ID document to confirm that you are of legal age.
If you are not present when the delivery is made, the package will be taken to a branch for collection. You can collect it there within 7 days upon presentation of your ID .
